About The Hozz
Michael Hauswirth, who goes by Michael Hozz was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and became very interested in music at a young age. Oddly enough, hearing the different tones coming from the vacuum cleaner at age 4 coupled with other noises from the house along with watching his Grandfather George play several instruments, intrigued him. His Parents bought him his first guitar at age 9, best Christmas ever!
It was then the journey began.
Michael has played professionally since 1988 and has had the opportunity to play alongside or open for many national acts. He has a songbook that ranges from the 1950’s to the present. Not only does he perform cover songs he also has a deep vault of originals many of which have been released and many that are yet to be recorded and released to the public. Mike plays every instrument on his original recordings and does all the recording himself in his state of the art home studio, Hozz Studios.

Projects
Michael Hozz is involved with several live acts.
He plays guitar and sings in the well established Uncle Ugly band. Uncle Ugly has been touring and performing, as well as making albums since 1988. The band went through many successes/members and is now down to the original founding members. The band has also had several songs on the radio, as well as videos on television and online.
He also performs as the drummer for the country band Tom Katalin and the Highway 41 Band based out of the beautiful Copper Country AKA Houghton, MI. These guys perform shows all over Northern Michigan and Wisconsin. Be sure to check these guys out!
Hozz also plays in an acoustic duo with the fantastic Gena Johnson known as Iron Daisy Acoustic. With Hozz on the guitar/vocals and Gena delivering with her scorching, soothing voice with an ever changing eclectic mix of songs, it's no surprise they are one of the most popular acoustic duos in the Marquette and surrounding areas.
Michael Hozz also does a select number of solo acoustic shows. Showcasing his stand alone, all by his lonesome musical prowess, you'll be sure to be impressed with what you'll hear.
Michael Hozz is also an ordained minister. A lover of dogs, hunting, fishing, hockey, Family, God and America. Not in that order, but you get the picture!
